The Iraqi Railroad Company has just completed a study to link Iraq by rail to Jordan, Turkey and Kuwait, the London based pan-Arab daily AL HAYAT reported.

Among other things the study also projected the costs of such an initiative which were not mentioned by the paper. The first project within this initiative is the construction of a 420 km railroad to the Iraqi-Jordanian border. The next project would be to link Iraq to Kuwait via the construction of a 17 km railroad. The company also announced the imminent launch of a $6 billion project to construct a ring rail around the capital, Baghdad.
